Spencer & Zach

Spencer & Zach's wedding was a dream to design for. We were so excited when we were presented with this design. Their ceremony took place at their church before guests headed to a beautiful reception at a historic home. Spencer & Zach's wedding was the first wedding at the new venue, The Crest, in Winston-Salem.

The Vibe

Spencer & Zach wanted their wedding to be trend forward, with a focus on unique and sculptural designs. We incorporated bows, moss, fruits and the perfect rentals to create epic moments. The hero flowers for this wedding were: moss, the most insane cymbidium orchids, dyed brown sweetpea, allium, local mums, local marigolds, hydrangea and calla lilies. Their modern, trendy and unique wedding florals in Winston-Salem, NC were a dream!

The Ceremony

Surrounded by their family and friends, Spencer & Zach were married at their downtown Winston-Salem church. We wanted to create something that could be repurposed at their reception, as well as enhance their church backdrop. With this in mind, we created a grounded arch covered in a base of moss to hint at their reception design.

The Installations

With such a large and neutral venue, we wanted to bring some more color and texture. Guests first entered reception through the historic home on the property, and were welcomed with a fun staircase installation, featuring live plants, greenery and varying sizes of black silk bows.

Their guests then headed into the carriage space for dinner. With such a large vaulted ceiling, we wanted to take up space with some hanging installations. The couple wanted to incorporate Moravian Stars as well. Full of texture, unique fresh and dried florals and Spanish moss, these "clouds" added in the perfect accent to their table designs.

The Tables

Spencer & Zach wanted to focus on an intimate dinner with their loved ones, which lead them to have a family style dinner. Because of this, we were restricted with how much table space we could take up so there would be room for platters. With this in mind, we brainstormed and decided to make little "pockets" of florals and candles down their tables. The candle and floral elements might change, but we made sure to leave plenty of room. The couple also rented king tables to make sure there was plenty of room for a family style dinner.

For Spencer & Zach's head table, we wanted those pockets to be a bit more lush. We designed medium arrangements with a base of moss, then added in taper candles and touch lamps. Of course, we also had to integrate bows to the look, so we added small black bows on some of the florals for an added touch.

For the rest of the guest tables, we did combinations of stone budvases, table lamps, taper candles, petite mossy arrangements, taper candles and ribbed amber pillar candles. We added in more bows, fruit and moss to round out the whole design
